Harry House Captive Insurance Scholarship

ICCIE

Harry House Captive Insurance Scholarship

The International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) is pleased to announce the Harry House Scholarship -- an award of one full scholarship per year for course work leading to an Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation.  The Harry House Scholarship is sponsored by Housing Authority Insurance (HAI) Group of Cheshire, Connecticut.  The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) will serve as the fiscal agent for the scholarship.  HAI Group expects to renew this scholarship annually.

I am writing to the leaders of Risk Management Programs at accredited colleges and universities to make you aware of this wonderful development and to solicit candidates who may be eligible to receive the award.  The scholarship is reserved for a minority student who will be chosen based on scholastic excellence and good standing in the university community. The recipient will be permitted to attend all required courses, in person or on-line, free of charge as long as he/she passes each course. Forms to apply for the scholarship are available on the VCIA and ICCIE web sites, at www.vcia.com and www.iccie.org.

HAI Group President and CEO Dan Labrie is very pleased about the opportunity this scholarship will offer to candidates who might otherwise not be able to participate in the ICCIE program.

"The dedication of this scholarship represents Harry House's commitment to the captive insurance industry," Labrie said. "It provides a means for professionals seeking education and development to better serve the customers of the industry."

Launched in 2004, the Associate in Captive Insurance designation has already been recognized in all major captive insurance domiciles as the educational standard for the industry. The 600 matriculants enrolled in the program hail from nearly every U.S. state, Barbados, Bermuda, BVI, Canada, Cayman Islands, Dubai, England, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Jordan, Mexico, Nevis and St. Kitts, Saudi Arabia, St. James, St. Lucia, Switzerland and TCI.

Please make your students aware of this opportunity. The application deadline is June 30, 2010 and we look forward to selecting a scholarship recipient from among an exceptional pool of candidates with an announcement of the award in August 2010.

We encourage you to review the detailed information about ICCIE and the ACI designation on ICCIE's website, at www.iccie.org. You may also contact me at 802-651-9051 or at Mitch@iccie.org.  Thank you for your assistance in ensuring that information about the 2010 Harry House Scholarship is communicated to all qualified applicants.

Sincerely,
