Hello ARIA Members: Today’s listserv contains the following:
-
Announcement of ARIA By-Laws change regarding future elections2007 Annual Meeting Survey deadline
-
ARIA Institutional Sponsors for 2006
Election of officers will take place very shortly. The cost of postage and materials will approach $350. Payments to conduct the recent annual meeting survey totaled $19.95. In the conduct of its elections, Section IV (B) of ARIA’s By-Laws stipulates that: The Executive Director shall send ballots containing the original and any additional nominations, with a return envelope addressed to the Executive Director, to all members who have paid their dues for the current year. Because of the ease and cost effectiveness of electronic mail, ARIA’s Board of Directors motioned to modify the By-Laws to allow means of communication, in addition to the mail, to conduct future elections. The proposed revision to the By-Laws reads: The Executive Director shall send ballots containing the original and any additional nominations, with a return envelope, or use other appropriate means of communication as determined by the Board, addressed to the Executive Director, to all members who have paid their dues for the current year. This amendment to the By-Laws will be brought before the membership for discussion and a vote at the general membership meeting to be held at the Capital Hilton, Washington, DC, August 7, 2006, 5:00 PM, Eastern Time. Prior to that time, please direct any questions to Tony Biacchi, ARIA Executive Director, biacchi@cpcuiia.org
