IFID Centre Call for Papers – Student Paper Competition

The IFID in Toronto, Canada is pleased to announce its first annual student paper competition.  This is the first year for this competition and is intended for doctoral students.  Papers that are relevant to personal financial decision making are welcome (i.e., portfolio choice, investment, retirement planning, life insurance, annuities, etc.). The deadline for submission is May 31, 2009, and the award is US$5,000.  Please see the attached document for additional information.

New Journal announcement Risk Management Research Report (RMRR) is a new free publication that provides the professional and academic communities concise information on current scholarship in risk management.  Each issue of RMRR features approximately 15 of the most important scholarly articles in risk management published within the preceding quarter.  For each of these articles, RMRR presents an extended summary of about 500-800 words, which contrasts with the brief (approximately 150-word) abstracts that typically accompany publication. The purpose of each summary is to provide a substantive understanding of the content of the article.

RMRR provides several benefits to readers. The editor, Robert W. Kolb,

  • Screens the voluminous flow of literature and identifies articles of special merit Provides a regular periodic flow of key information to risk managers and risk management scholars
  • Writes longer summaries of the most valuable articles easily available to anyone involved in risk management.

RMRR focuses on formally published articles, not working papers. It is presented as an 8.5 x 11" color pdf file.  The first issue of RMRR is available at:  http://www.rmrr.com  Subscribe now and get the quarterly issues emailed to you as soon as each is available.

RMRR is a publication of the School of Business at Loyola University Chicago.  It is sponsored by: CME Group Foundation, The Professional Risk Managers International Association, and the Center for Integrated Risk Management and Corporate Governance at Loyola University Chicago.
