Barcelona Insurance & Risk Management
Summer School The Barcelona Insurance and Risk Management Summer School will be offered by the Risk and Insurance Research group at the
University of
Barcelona from July 12 to July 14, 2010. It is co-directed by Prof. Dr. Raimond Maurer, Professor in Finance, Chair of Investment, Portfolio Management and Pension Finance at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and by Prof.
Dr. Montserrat Guillén, Professor in the Department of Econometrics at the University of Barcelona. It is a three-day workshop on the fundamentals of retirement planning and income for the elderly and will be devoted to Pension Investing and Retirement Risk
Management.

ARIA Executive Office
The ARIA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it will renew its contract with The Institutes for the provision of Executive Office services. Since the current 5 year contract with The Institutes will expire December 31, 2010, the Board circulated a Request for Proposals to interested organizations in keeping with its obligations of due diligence on behalf of the membership. After careful consideration of proposals received and in light of the excellent service and professional cooperation ARIA has enjoyed with our current management team, ARIA and The Institutes will enter into a contract for an additional 5 year term to begin January 2011. Tony Biacchi will continue to serve as the Executive Director.
