 The Institutes President’s CPCU Scholarship for 2011 The Institutes is now offering 100 scholarships for the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation program.  The President’s CPCU Scholarship will cover the costs of CPCU textbooks, course guides, exam registration fees, and SMART Study Aids (includes flash card and review notes), and national exams.  Please see the attached document for additional information. Additional information about the program and a scholarship application are available at www.TheInstitutes.org/cpcu_scholarship.htm or by calling Ellen O’Shea, Customer Relations Specialist at 484-831-9070 or email oshea@TheInstitutes.org

 

 The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation Funding for Collegiate Risk Management and Insurance Program Adjunct Professors To help support colleges and universities in developing or enhancing their risk management and insurance (RMI) course offerings, The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation is seeking applicants for grants to fund adjunct professor positions.  The overall goal of the program is to help universities that may face short-term funding issues, but exhibit a long-term commitment to improving the educational opportunities for students in the RMI field. This includes institutions with current RMI programs, those seeking to start programs and those with related course offerings within other degrees.   Colleges and universities interested in obtaining a grant must complete an application process that involves identification of overall RMI program goals, proposed course topics, candidate search plans, financial requirements and proposed timing. Submissions are accepted annually, and the deadline for this year is March 15, 2011.

 

 ETH Zurich The Department of Management, Technology and Economics at ETH Zurich is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Risk and Insurance Economics.    Please see the attached document for additional information.  Note the application deadline has been extended.

 

 American Association of Managing General Agents (AAMGA) The AAMGA is accepting white papers on property and casualty industry-related topics focused on issues and dilemmas faced by organizations and individuals in the Wholesale or Excess and Surplus and/or Surplus Lines industry, specifically where the industry is headed in the future. Undergraduate risk and insurance juniors and seniors and graduate students are eligible.  Two winning papers will be selected and the authors will be awarded $1,000.  Authors will be invited to attend the AAMGA Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida in May 2011.   

The application deadline is March 1,  2011.  Please see the attached document for additional information.
