The College of Family and Consumer Services at the University of Georgia is accepting applications for Department Head in Housing and Consumer Economics. Applications received by September 4, 2012 will receive full consideration. Please see the attached document for additional information.
University of Houston Downtown
The College of Business at the University of Houston Downtown is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Insurance and Risk Management beginning August 2013. The Southern Risk & Insurance Association (SRIA) 2012 Annual Meeting will be held November 18-20, 2012 in Savannah, Georgia. The deadline for submissions is August 1, 2012 and will not be extended. Please see the attached document for additional information.

The CEAR/MRIC Behavioral Insurance Workshop is scheduled for December 10-11, 2012 in Munich, Germany. The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2012. Please see the attached document for additional information.
Risk Theory Society 2013 Annual Seminar Call for Papers
The Risk Theory Society 2013 Annual Seminar is scheduled for April 5-7, 2013 at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. The deadline for submissions is December 15, 2012. Please see the attached document for additional information.
ARIA 2012 Annual Meeting
First-Time Attendees Reception
The ARIA Membership Committee will once again host the First-Time Attendees Reception on Sunday, August 5 at 5:00 PM. This is an excellent opportunity for first-time participants to meet the ARIA Board of Directors and other members in a smaller setting. Also, the committee would like to extend an invitation to first-time attendees to be assigned a mentor. You would meet your mentor at the reception and he/she would be available to you that evening and throughout the conference to answer any questions you may have during the meeting.
If you would like to be assigned a mentor or if you are an ARIA member interesting in serving as a mentor, please contact Cassandra Cole, Membership Chair at ccole@cob.fsu.edu
Job Openings and Resumes
A job placement and resume binder will be available at the registration desk during the ARIA 2012 Annual Meeting. A loose leaf binder will be available at the registration desk to insert your resume or place information about a job opening. Use this convenient service to locate a job or fill a position. Any announcement or job opening should first be approved by Ping Wang, Chairperson of the Placement Committee. Ping’s email address is wangp1@stjohns.edu
Meeting attendees should furnish their room number, cell phone number, or where they can be reached. Those unable to attend the annual meeting can email their resume to the ARIA Executive Office at aria@TheInstitutes.org no later than July 25.
Former ARIA Executive Director obituary
Professor Richard Johnson, former ARIA Executive Director, passed away on June 11, 2012. Dr. Johnson, 92 of Gainesville, Florida, was on the faculty of University of Georgia RMI until the mid-1980s. Dr. Johnson served for several years as the Executive Director of ARIA when the association was administered by the University of Georgia. Here is a link to his obituary.
