Evaluating Knowledge in Today’s Learning Landscape WEBINAR
Virtual
Friday, January 28, 2022, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT
Category: Events - Virtual

The past two years have shown us that regardless of the teaching format we use – in person, online, hybrid – the closed book, closed note traditional exam is certainly not the only way to appropriately evaluate subject mastery. Join us as we explore ideas for evaluating student learning that can be effective in any teaching-learning format. In our first RITS (Research & Insurance Teaching Society) seminar of 2022, two of our teaching colleagues share their ideas, experience and experiments in an attempt to adequately and meaningfully appraise student knowledge. The emphasis will be on strategies that may work best for upper-level undergraduate and/or graduate courses with class sizes under 60 students. An open forum period will be included in which attendees can share their assessment experiences and ideas. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance. The seminar will be recorded.
