Due to the COVID pandemic, ARIA is canceling the World Risk and Insurance Economics Congress (WRIEC) that was scheduled to be held in New York City in August. The restrictions on travel and the uncertainty regarding the ability of the City of New York to be ready to host conferences like ours have made it impossible to have a traditional meeting.
In place of the in-person meeting in New York City, ARIA will be hosting a virtual World Congress. As a result, authors of accepted papers will still have the opportunity to present their work, and discussants will still have the opportunity to provide feedback. Given the many time-zones at play, the virtual meeting will mostly be asynchronous. A detailed plan of the virtual conference will be available by the middle of June. Please email the WRIEC Program Chair, Ty Leverty (firstname.lastname@example.org), if you do not wish to present your paper in a virtual format.
We will refund the meeting fees paid so far, but please do not ask for a refund yet. For a modest conference fee you will have access to all research presentations. Holding off on the refund request will save us some processing fees and other transaction costs. If you have already asked for a refund, please do not worry. It is already in process.
