Call for Nominations

Though the 2012 ARIA election of officers is several months away, it is not too early to consider individuals who might be interested in serving on ARIA’s Board of Directors.  Office is open to all ARIA members regardless of residence.

Three members will be elected to a three-year term on the Board.  Nominations are also open for Vice President, although Board members whose terms are expiring are usually considered first for nomination for this position.

Names of individuals for consideration as possible nominees to the 2012-2013 ARIA Board of Directors should be emailed to Gene Lai at genelai@wsu.edu by February 12, 2012.  The slate of nominees will be presented by Committee on Nominations to the Board for their approval and shared with the membership. Election ballots will be distributed to ARIA’s current members in April.  Individuals who have not renewed their membership for 2012 can do so online at www.wiley.com or by calling Wiley-Blackwell at 1-800-835-6770.

Hello, ARIA Members:

Did you know that this year is the 80th anniversary when ARIA was founded?  Let's all make the next newsletter a special one.  If you have not yet responded  (thanks to those who have already replied), please provide the following information:

1)  what is one "fun fact" about yourself that most ARIA members may not know?
2)  in one or two sentences, what prompted you to become an insurance educator or become connected with the insurance industry?

3)  do you have a fun or fond (not embarrassing) memory immediately before, during, or after an ARIA meeting that you would like to share?

Please send your comments on any or all of the above by Friday, February 17, 2012 to diana.lee@pciaa.net.  In addition, articles about your university's RMI program, research, etc. are welcome.  And don't forget.... send me any personal/professional news about yourself for the Members in the News column as well.

Thanks in advance for your contribution,
        Diana Lee
        ARIA NEWS Editor
